Parent LIFE | Tonight | The Bible is pretty clear that ultimately what's wrong with our kids/teens isn't some sort of moral external action, but really a state of their heart. King David says, 'surely' he was 'brought forth in iniquity.' The Bible tells us in the book of Ephesians that we are 'by our nature,' or by our birth, 'objects of God's wrath.' Really the Bible paints this picture that sin isn't something we do once we figure out the difference between right and wrong and choose wrong, but actually sin is a stat of the HEART that then overflows and leads to actions. Hi Central Family, In these busy, hectic days we take our kids or grandkids to sports practices, games, music lessons, school tutoring and other activities to give our children the best opportunities for success. But what if we're missing the chance to teach them what matters most? Our children can grow up smart, athletic, popular and polite but lack a vibrant relationship with Christ. The few hours they spend at Central each week can be helpful, but it cannot nurture a faith in our kids that will withstand the trials that are on the horizon. Central alone cannot teach them, we must start at home. But many parents feel ill equipped to develop the faith of their children. In these six sessions, we will explore biblical and tangible ways that parents—couples, single parents, blended families and grandparents—can build a legacy of faith for their children. Each Bible study session includes interviews with everyday parents talking about their own doubts, fears and desires. Gary Thomas, Matt Chandler, and Kurt and Olivia Bruner provide powerful teaching that will help you give your kids what they need to build a solid framework for lifelong faith. Six sessions: Session 1 - Faith: It Starts At Home. Session 2 - Marriage: Your Children Are Watching. Session 3 - Relationships: Your First Priority. Session 4 - Truth: What Are Your Kids Learning? Session 5 - Communication: Each Child is Unique. Session 6 - Character: Preparing Your Kids For the Real World. This series includes 8 real-life stories, 6 filmed family night activity examples, and 6 original family night illustrations. Jennifer and I are praying that you will make a plan to be at Central for these six sessions. Hi Central Family, We are excited to take on the challenge of giving in marriage. Jennifer and I will be sharing "4 Giving Principles" that will help your marriage be more generous. We'll be discussing what it means to give and how does it look to be generous. The good news is that the Bible shows us what generosity looks like.
